Junior Year: Week 1

Well, here is to another ending of a great summer and a new beginning to another school year, however, I feel this year is going to be much different. Day one back marked my first year as a junior. But, this first week symbolized one step closer to growing up. Freshman and sophomore year were only warm ups compared to what, already, junior year had to offer. My first College U.S. History course, more AP classes, and a variety of opportunities for success have already set the bar for the rest of the year and the level of difficulty that lay ahead. Even though we are one week into the school year I have felt the amount of determination, dedication, sweat, and the occasional tear that my junior year (which by the way, from what I’ve heard, is the hardest year out of your high school career) will call for. These examples of the possible future all lead to one thing: the coming of age. People are now expecting a serious answer when they ask what we want to be and where we want to go. And so far, I still have no clue. That’s the best part though, finding that out as you go. The first week has definitely established high expectations for me and the effort I put forth for the rest of the year, because now it counts, and time is already counting down till the summer of 2015.
