I’m in Writing

As I am walking up the stairs heading to my bedroom I think of everything that has happened this week at school. Working sure does cause you to get tired when Friday comes around. It’s like all of your nights lack of sleep finally catches up to you. I am an 11 year old girl and am ready for bed. It is about 6:30 PM, and my family and I have just finished eating dinner. I comb my hair and brush my teeth preparing for bed. I almost forgot my journal. My journal isn’t just a journal that you draw in or put notes in. My journal is a way of expressing my day’s thoughts and feelings. Anyway, like I said heading for my bed and I have my journal and pen in my left hand. I finally get settled into my comforting bed, having my lamp switched on.

Dear journal, I started.

“*Sigh* Well school has left me tired (as usual). I can’t believe that TAKS is finally over and I can relax now.” I yawned, and then continued. “So, Luke is an energetic little thing, Mom and Dad is stressed from work, but they eventually calmed down.” I couldn’t obtain my sleepiness so I closed my journal and shut my eyes for a few minutes. I thought to myself I’ll wake up in a few minutes and finish my writing. I thought wrong. I never woke up after that.

The next morning I woke up moving my legs to hop out of bed. That’s when I noticed something in my bed. My journal and pen were still in my bed. Picking them up I set them on my nightstand, and headed for the bathroom to wash my face. When I looked up I saw myself covered in blue ink. This time it had my name all over it. I wasn’t guilty of anything I was just in writing.
